84% Grenache, 16% Syrah $88
Aged for 19 months in 49% new French oak, with portions in Foudre and concrete egg, the wine develops a beautiful texture and integration of flavor. The nose offers notes of strawberry preserve, raspberry, and red currant, delicate floral tones and a whisper of whole-cluster spice. Grenache takes the lead with its bright red fruit and vibrant energy, while Syrah brings a grounding layer of peppery spice and subtle dark fruit. Every Grenache block on the property, featuring five clones of French and Spanish origin adds a unique character, layering the wine with complexity and finesse. Clone 470 Syrah enhances the wine’s aromatic lift with red fruit spice, while darker, more brooding elements from the two other clones of Syrah, 174 and 877 add depth. On the palate, a medium-plus weight, driven by lively acidity and vivid flavors of raspberry, pomegranate, and red currant. The structure reveals fine, powdery tannins framing a juicy, mouthwatering core that revives the palate with every visit.
