2012 Beguiling

92% Grenache, 8% Syrah
For the 2012 vintage, we incorporated fruit from every block of Grenache in the vineyard, all of varying aspects and clones. This gave us a well-rounded and intricate blend of Grenache that was then paired with a small amount of Syrah to add another layer of complexity. Notes of roasted coffee and lightly smoked meats draw you in from the start and are followed by flavors of dried red fruits, black cherry, star anise and slow churned mocha ice cream on the palate. We opted for about 30% stem inclusion to create the creamy texture and soft tannic structure which makes this wine not only very approachable, but also be able to age gracefully over the next eight years.
