2010 Sagacious

44% Grenache, 42% Syrah and 14% Mourvèdre
More than toward any varietal in particular, this wine speaks toward the site.  Bright red fruits from the grenache marry dark, more brooding blackberry, plum, and blueberry from the Syrah and finish off with savory notes of peppered meats and earthy sage from the Mourvedre.  This wine provides a full palate experience with a silky presence and the warmth of subtle baking spices front to back.  Once again the high lime soils contribute to a fantastic acidity that allows this really big wine to feel almost light on its feet.
