When we did the original planting up at Law Vineyard, Mourvedre was the lowest percentage of Rhone varietal grapes we planted. We quickly found that it was absolutely incredible and promptly planted additional acres. The Mourvedre contributes licorice, black cherry and dried herbs of lavender and sage. It is complimented by the riper fruit notes from Syrah of blueberry and blackberry. The Grenache, a Spanish clone, that came off the vineyard is the prettiest we have seen and plays a big role in this blend with the bright red fruits and soft violet undertones.
